CLEANING & CARE GUIDES

Cleaning Guide

General

Vacuum on the lowest setting possible (preferably without beater bar) or use a broom to sweep away debris.

Stains

Spot clean with mild detergent and water, using a cloth to blot.  Do not rub or use a carpet cleaning machine.  Consult a professional carpet cleaner for unruly stains or a deeper cleaning.

Care Guide

Wear

Rotate your rug every 3-6 months for continued even wear.

Shedding

It is natural for rugs to have minimal shedding of natural fibers upon unpacking.  This will dissipate once the rug settles from being unpackaged.

Sprouts/Nubs

Loose knot like sprouts/nubs are common with antique and vintage rugs.  You may leave them lay or clip with scissors.  Do not pull.

Unpacking

Any creases will disappear within a day or two of laying flat.

Odor

Upon unpacking your rug, it may have a natural fiber odor, this is normal, and it will dissipate as the rug is able to breathe again.  There is no release of VOC's.

Rug Pads

A rug pad absorbs wear and tear, which extends the life of your rug.  We suggest rugpadusa where they provide custom sizing for antique and vintage rugs.

Storing

Always roll your rug for storing.
